An aspiring Olympic and World Cup skier

Daughter of Carmella and Rich Glover and sister to Bonnie Glover. A lifelong resident of Madison, she attended Sunrise Preschool, Midvale Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Hamilton Middle School and one year at Madison West High School. In 2001, she began her sophomore year at Burke Mountain Academy to pursue her ski racing passion, and would have graduated May 29 in East Burke, VT. Shelley became a member of the US Ski Team, and was in her second year with the development squad. She was considered a rising star, enjoying her best season winter 03-04. Shelley worked her way to six top five finishes in international level (FIS) races. She also finished in the top 15 all four days at the 2004 North American (NorAm) Cup Finals. She displayed continued success in technical disciplines (slalom and giant slalom), finishing eighth in slalom at the US Alpine Championships in Alaska in March and winning a pair of FIS races in Waterville Valley, NH at the end of January. She finished the 2004 season ranked sixth in the NorAm Cup slalom standings. Shelley began ski racing locally for the Tyrol Basin Ski Team and then for the Madison Alpine Race Team. Before leaving for Vermont, Shelley also played soccer for the Madison 56ers Soccer Club and was a Wisconsin Olympic Development athlete.
